What was initially interpreted as a mysterious art project turned out to be a large-scale campaign by the Chemnitz band Kraftklub: On a Monday at the end of May, a huge sign with the words “Sterben in Karl-Marx-Stadt” (Dying in Karl Marx City) appeared in the Saxon city, initially puzzling onlookers. The countdown on the sign ran down to Wednesday evening at 9:15 p.m. – and then the moment arrived: the band gave a spontaneous concert and opened with their brand-new single “Schief in jedem Chor” (Crooked in Every Choir). They announced their fifth studio album, “Sterben in Karl-Marx-Stadt,” for November 28, 2025, as well as the tour of the same name for 2026.
