There is an option to take back all single-use plastic and metal drinks containers purchased in Austria that are marked with the standardized Austrian deposit symbol (next to the supermarket and at the waste return station – see area map). Please note that only cans and plastic bottles that are in original condition will be recognized by the deposit machine. The can deposit will be refunded directly to your cashless chip.
No, your unused credit from last year is not transferable to 2025. If you have not yet refunded your credit from Frequency Festival 2024, please contact cashless@frequency.at and provide the following details:
Please note that the return transfer can take up to 14 working days.
Mandatory personalization is the required linking of your personal account to your ticket. It serves to minimize the risk of misuse. Your personal account is your personalization and also your cashless account, your digital wallet at the festival. You can use it to top up your cashless credit in advance, view your transactions and current balance at any time, and request a refund (payout) of your remaining balance after the festival. Your account will be automatically linked to your cashless chip, which is attached to your festival wristband, and you can get started right away. By topping up online in advance, you save valuable time on site and avoid queuing at the top-up stations at the festival. Mandatory personalization must be completed before the festival, otherwise you will not be able to enter the festival.
Yes, you can re-use your existing account from previous years.
Creating your personal account is easy and only takes a few minutes. Go to www.frequency.at/cashless and enter your personal details. Then link your account to your ticket and top up your cashless credit from the comfort of your own home.
The barcode is located on your ticket, regardless of whether you purchased it online and printed it out or purchased it physically at an official advance sales outlet. Click HERE to see where the ticket code is located.
Once you have created your personal account and linked it to your ticket, you can easily top up Cashless credit online. In your account, select the amount you would like to top up (minimum €50 and maximum €500) and a payment method. Once the payment has been completed, the credit will be automatically saved in your account and visible to you. As soon as you arrive at the festival entrance and your ticket has been scanned, you will receive your festival wristband with your cashless chip attached. Your personal account and your pre-loaded credit will be automatically recognized by your cashless chip on your festival wristband and will be available to you immediately. If you prefer to top up your credit on site at the festival, you can top up your credit at the top-up stations or via the QR code on your festival wristband. Please note, however, that there may be longer waiting times at the stations at the festival and you can save valuable time by topping up online.
ATTENTION: When paying by debit or credit card, it is necessary to confirm the payment via mobile APP or browser portal of the payment provider as part of the legal AUTHENTICATION OBLIGATION.
Whenever you pay with your cashless chip at the festival, our staff can show you your current balance. You can also check your current balance at any time in your personal account at www.frequency.at/cashless or in the Frequency app and see all the transactions you have made. Or you can check your credit at the charging stations on the festival site. However, please note that there may be longer waiting times at the stations during the festival.
All transactions at the festival are made via the Cashless system. Early Caravan/Early Camping/Early Carping fees as well as garbage fee can be paid in advance via Cashless or on site in cash. Excluded from the cashless system are the shuttle buses.
Neither cash nor other payment methods (debit and credit cards etc.) will be accepted at the festival. Payment is made exclusively with the cashless system, or rather the cashless chip attached to your festival wristband.
Early Caravan/Early Camping/Early Carping fees as well as garbage fee can be paid in advance via Cashless or on site in cash. Excluded from the cashless system are the shuttle buses.
Cashless credit is only topped up in € EURO. If you top up cashless credit online in a different currency in advance because you have a foreign bank account or a credit card in a different currency, or live in a country that uses a different currency, your bank/credit card exchange fee will apply. In this case, please inform yourself in advance at your bank/credit card company.
As soon as you arrive at the festival site, you should ideally have already completed the following three steps:
1) created your personal account
2) linked your ticket to it and
3) topped up your cashless credit online.
All you need now is your festival wristband with your cashless chip. You will receive your wristband from our staff at the festival entrance (check-in) as soon as your valid ticket has been scanned. Your personal account and your pre-loaded credit will be automatically recognized by your chip and you can start right away.
Yes, that is possible. Please contact cashless@frequency.at and provide the following information:
If you have already topped up cashless credit, the credit will remain linked to your cashless account. Once your ticket has been separated from your account, you can pass it on to someone else, who can then link it to their account. Please do not pass on your ticket until we have given you the go-ahead! You can easily retrieve your preloaded credit in your cashless account once the refund process has begun.
It is not possible to create a personal account without a ticket. You need a valid day ticket or a valid festival pass.
As soon as you have created your personal account, link the day ticket that you will redeem first.
Example: If you have a day ticket for Thursday and a day ticket for Friday, link Thursday's ticket. At the festival entrance you will then receive your festival wristband with your cashless chip and the cashless credit you have topped up online (if available) will be available to you immediately. When you pick up your new festival wristband with a new cashless chip at the wristband station on Friday, you can also link it to your personal account. This means that your new festival wristband will then be linked to your account in addition to your wristband from Thursday. To link your new festival wristband, go to “add a wallet” in your personal account and enter the chip tag (six-digit letter code on the underside of your cashless chip on the festival wristband) and your new wristband will be linked.
ATTENTION: The remaining credit from your first wristband is not automatically transferred to your new wristband (new wallet). To be able to pay with the new wristband, you must top up Cashless credit in your personal account or at the top-up stations on the festival site.
There can be a few different problems if you are buying a ticket from another person. We cannot guarantee that the ticket is valid and it's possible that the ticket was already conencted to another personal account before. If this is the case you cannot create a cashless account for yourself. Please only buy tickets from our official ticketing-partners or the fanSALE from oeticket. If you still buy a ticket from another person that is already personalized, please make sure that the original ticket buyer deletes the connection by writing us an email to cashless@frequency.at.
If you are on the guest list, you will receive an email with all the information you need to retrieve and download your ticket. As soon as you have received your guest list ticket, you can create your personal account at www.frequency.at/cashless and link it to your ticket by entering your ticket barcode.
Please be aware that guest list tickets are NOT transferable and are not intended for resale.
If you have not received any information via email, please contact our social media team via Facebook or Instagram.
At the festival entrance, your ticket will first be scanned and your official ID checked. If the data on your personal account matches your ID, you will receive your festival wristband with the cashless chip attached. If you have already topped up credit in advance, this will be automatically loaded onto your cashless chip and will be available to you immediately.
ATTENTION: It is NOT possible to have the remaining credit paid out in CASH on site!
Your remaining balance can only be paid out ONLINE at www.frequency.at/cashless or in the Frequency app. To do this, request the return transfer (pay out) of your remaining balance in your personal account. It is possible to apply for a refund from 18.08.2025 (12:00) until 30.09.2025 (23:59). Please note that the return transfer can take up to 14 working days. No additional fees will be charged for the payout. There is no minimum withdrawal amount.
Yes, you can request the de-personalization of your account after the festival. Please write to cashless@frequency.at. Your name will be made unrecognizable, the account will remain and your transactions will still be visible to you.
If you have a technical problem or breakdown with your vehicle, you can contact ÖAMTC breakdown assistance by calling the emergency number 120.
We provide you with everything you need - directly at the festival ground. Not only are there a lot of different food trucks (all info can be found in the official Frequency App) and bars - you find cold beer, ice cubes and fresh vegetables and more there.
This year you can once more arrive for the "Early Camping" already:
Monday (11.08/ Noon) - Tuesday (12.08./ 10pm)
Tuesday (12.08/ Noon) - Saturday (16.08/ Noon)
You can pay the Early Camping fee in your cashless account as soon as the registration period starts.
We strongly advise you to not buy tickets from private sellers (ebay, facebook, instagram, willhaben etc.). And please do not buy tickets via ticketing resale platforms like Viagogo. Unfortunately, there have often been problems with fake tickets, with which the entrance to the festival and camping grounds will be refused. Please only buy tickets at the official FQ Ticket outlets: oeticket/eventim, Raiffeisen, Musicticket or at www.frequency.at/tickets.
Please help protect the environment and keep your campsite clean!
Setting up party tents is not recommended for safety, space and environmental reasons. If you do bring one, please make sure that it is used by several festival visitors and covers at least 50% of the sleeping tent.
We recommend not taking children under the age of 10 to a concert/festival, but the decision ultimately lies with the parent or guardian. If your child is to be present, please be sure to provide age-appropriate hearing protection.
In any case, the latest version of the Lower Austrian Youth Protection Act must be observed. The security is instructed to ensure compliance with this law.
All visitors need a valid festival or day pass, regardless of age.
For damages, injuries and theft on the whole festival area (parking, camping and caravan area, as well as the core area, etc.) no liability is assumed! Please take good care of your valuables.
Swimming in the Traisen river is possible, but the organizer advises against it! We would like to point out that the Traisen is a flowing river and bathing in it can be dangerous. Attention! The organizer does not assume any liability. Please take care of the environment and do not throw garbage into the Traisen!

House Rules FM4 Frequency Festival
Fire brigade: (+43) 122
Police: (+43) 133
Ambulance: (+43) 144
The fire brigade should immediately be informed if a fire breaks out anywhere, even if it appears to be already under control, or seems to be extinguished. On both big stages, at the campsite as well as at the caravan site there is a station with trained medical staff.
Open air events can lead to unexpected measures due to the weather. (Interruption of performances, field evacuation, tent evacuations ...). These measures are announced through speakers, screens and security services. In this case, the instructions of the security service must be followed without contradiction!
If you are in danger of (lightning) storms, please go to your cars and help other visitors without a car and offer your free places, if possible! (You can show free places by switching on the hazard flasher!) Please avoid dangerous spots such as big tents, trees towers and superstructures!
Security checks happen at the entrance to the campsite and the site, where dangerous objects will be removed! According to our house rules, carrying dangerous objects is prohibited! With the access to the main area, the visitor agrees with a person control and body check - as well with the search of objects like bags. If necessary, these checks are also carried out with the aid of technical equipment (eg metal detectors). For items that are handed over to the security service for safekeeping, the receipt must always be kept. No return without a receipt.
There will be Wavebreakers on both stages. When crossing maximum capacity the wavebreakers will be closed temporary during the concerts in oder to provide you with full safety and a comfortable concert experience.
The festival app is your best companion on site! There you can find the personalized timetable, our interactive area map, your cashless wallet and more! We will also send you push messages with important infos or updates directly to your smartphone.
Upon entering the camping area, tickets will be exchanged for wristbands. All tickets will be scanned without exception to verify their authenticity. If you have a Ticketdirect ticket, you can show it on your phone.
Please have your ticket and photo ID ready when you approach the entrance tent to avoid delays. Our staff will put the wristbands on for you, and they are non-transferable. The cashless chip is attached to your festival wristband.
If you have ordered a Premium Festival Pass, you will receive your festival wristband at home. You can personalize your wristband at home, pay the waste fee (and, if applicable, the early camping fee) using the cashless tool, and at the entrance, you only need to have your wristband scanned. If you do not personalize it in advance or do not pay the waste fee (and, if applicable, the early camping fee), there might still be waiting times.
Personalizing the ticket is mandatory. This can be done at frequency.at/cashless. Without the festival account and personalization, there is no entry. Photo IDs will also be checked on site.
NEW: Starting this year, you can pay the waste fee (and, if applicable, the early camping fee) in advance via cashless – conveniently from home. Cash payments on site are still possible. If you return at least a half-full garbage bag at the collection points, you will receive a refund of EUR 10 on your cashless account.
The FM4 Frequency Festival is cashless, so there are no ATMs on site. The nearest ATM is at the Billa Plus supermarket (approximately 500 meters on foot). Cash is only necessary for early camping, the waste fee, and the shuttle bus.
If you are standing in front of the stage or sound boxes use hearing protection! You can get it at various locations around the festival grounds. The Alpine team will also be on-site with their premium music earplugs. Wearing earplugs at music events is essential for preventing hearing damage. Unlike ordinary earplugs, Alpine's specialized music filters maintain good sound quality so you'll hear the music clearly and still chat easily with friends. Perfect for enjoying the full festival experience while protecting your hearing.
The VIP area is located on and behind the right sided viewing platform next to the space stage. There is a limited number of VIP tickets for the VIP area. These include the access to the VIP area and the use of the VIP parking and the VIP campsite.
