About
Summer 2024. A huge crowd stands in front of the stage, their impatient wait immediately turning into exuberant applause as Chino, Mateo, Johnny Strange, and Don Cali take the stage:
The world has changed a lot in the last 22 years. However, the boundless joy and unbroken energy at a Culcha Candela show has hardly changed at all!
With over five million records sold, almost 35 gold and platinum awards, and more than 1,500 live shows, Culcha Candela may not be reinventing themselves, but they don't need to.
Time and again in recent years, the Berlin cult collective has shown that they can shake energetic club bangers and hits with attitude out of their colorful sleeves with playful ease—today as in the past. After almost a quarter of a century in showbiz, the band continues to tour sold-out venues, has just delivered the theme song for the European Handball Championship in Germany (“Celebration”) and celebrated the 15th anniversary of the smash hit “MONSTA” in September 2024.
CULCHA CANDELA has come up with something very special for this occasion: With a whole box of great surprises, strong collaborations, and a brand-new MONSTA 15 EP, September was monstrously strong.
The guys recently showed that they're still up for a bit of fun when they posted a fun dance video on TikTok to Shirin David's song “Bauch Beine Po” and announced that they would release a new single if the clip got 1 million views. The following week, they promptly announced the release of their new single KILLAH (September 6). Of course, the 1 million views were quickly collected!
But that's not all: a huge indoor tour is on the schedule for March 2025. Standing still and pop star retirement are simply not (yet) options for the legendary hip-hop, reggae, and Latin band.
The four Berlin boys can rarely bear to watch the world go by as mere “onlookers.” Culcha Candela have always wanted to make a difference and make the world a little bit better. That's why they continue to be heavily involved in social projects such as BeAnAngel e.V., Die Arche, ActionKids, Laut Gegen Nazis, Pro Asyl, Seebrücke, Afrika Rise, and many others.
