Where is Line-Up Phase 2?

20.02.2020

The previously announced “band wave” has still not been released. Why is that so? Are we cruel sadists who intentionally want to torture you for months? Of course not 🙃 We would have loved to release line-up  phase 2 by the end of last year. Unfortunately, the music business doesn’t always work as easily as desired. Although we deal with the question of how the perfect line-up looks like all year round, the practical implementation is a hard and rocky road. Because a perfect line-up depends on whether the following questions can be answered with “Yes” (we have unfortunately had to accept “No” several times in the past few months):

Is the desired artist from 20.-22. August available?
We all know how difficult it can often be to set up a suitable 3-day date for a trip with friends. Now imagine that you are an internationally successful act, whose calendar is packed with appointments 365 days a year.

Is St. Pölten geographically suitable for a show?
The majority of artists travel with several trucks and buses. Therefore, a tour must be planned perfectly geographically in order not to have to make unnecessary detours.

Is the Austrian market even interesting for the act?
With just under 9 million inhabitants (New York: 8.3 million; London: 8.9 million), Austria is a very small market for the music industry and is therefore unfortunately often underestimated by international acts and disregarded on tours.

So, enough of an excursion into the music business. Back to our own inability and history of suffering 😉

09.12.2019: One day before the planned announcement we receive the information from an agency that we cannot release  the line-up as planned because some acts want to announce their tour dates for 2020 shortly before Christmas.

11.12.2019: We receive the information that the tour dates (and the associated FQ20 announcement) will be reschuled to the new year. We expect a realistic announcement at the end of January.

28.12.2019: Some artists (including headliners) change their tour plans for 2020 and decide against a show at the FM4 Frequency Festival. The search for replacements begins and turns out to be difficult and time-consuming.

January 2020 – now: We are in contact with a lot of international agencies and have several suitable acts in the “pipeline”. However, we have to wait for their bomb-proof approval before we can go out with it. Hence the repeated delay. After all, we want to offer you a neat band package and not a half-ass alternative.

We are so sorry to have to torture you so long this year. We are working hard to present Line Up Phase 2 to you soon and keep you up to date. Thank you for your support and your patience –festival passes are 90 % sold-out! ❤️
